I spent a Saturday downtown in the ocelot print shop. I'd never done any screen printing. It was easier than the the letterpress, but no less satisfying be a part of all the steps.
We started with plates printed on acrylic sheets and burned the emulsion sheets in a darkroom all the way loading the screen with a blend of inks and pushing them though to the printing surface.
I didn't try multiple colors but learned how easy it is to create multiple color prints. The green-blue gradient was really easy to make!
I hope to get back the shop to make some more screen prints on paper – after I finish the book itself.
